Three Rivers' Marquise Carter

Posted Friday, March 6, 2009, at 10:58 AM

Carter was recently named the Region XVI Player of the Year. He was just ahead of Jeremy Marrs who averaged 12 points a game for the Raiders in the post.

Carter averaged 14.5 points per game and was second in the region in assists with an average of 4.5 assists.

He is the third straight region player of the year for Three Rivers after Bryan Sherrer won it last year and Montas Griskenas won the year before.

The Raiders face Moberly in the first round of the Region XVI tournament tonight at the winner of that game faces the Mineral Area/State Fair winner.

The winner of the Region XVI tournament will face the Region IV champion on Tuesday at that school's site.
