Naylor's Moriah Goodrum ties MSHSAA single game FT percentage record

Posted Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at 9:44 AM

In a 66-58 Naylor win over Dexter on Monday night, Naylor senior Moriah Goodrum went 15-for-15 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to lift the Lady Eagles to the win. Goodrum didn't have any free throw attempts in the first three quarters.

According to the MSHSAA record book, Goodrum is the 22nd girl in state history with a perfect free-throw percentage in a game with a minimum 12 attempts. Goodrum is the third girl all-time to go 15-for-15 in a game. Back on Jan. 26 2006, Greenville's Sara Woodgeard, who is a current Three Rivers Lady Raider, went 19-for-19 in a game against Clearwater.

Goodrum totaled 28 points on the night.

Back on Dec. 21 at the Twin Rivers Lady Royals Classic, Goodrum was 9-for-10 from the line in a loss against Dexter and had 25 points.

Yes, Ms. Goodrum is a very nice player. Speaking of records, Taylor Nelson of Dexter is in the MSHSAA record books twice. Her 31 consecutive made free throws during the 2004-2005 season ranks third all time in Missouri and her 80% career free throw mark ranks 5th all time in the state for girls. I guess a few good things come out of mean old Dexter!!!
