Rob Tate has been with the Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, Mo. since August 2008 and is currently the assistant sports editor. Rob was born and raised in Clawson, Mich., just 14 miles north of Detroit and is an avid Tigers, Lions, Pistons, Red Wings and University of Michigan fan. He has also adopted the Rams and Mizzou to his favorites since moving to Missouri. He is a 2008 graduate of Oakland (Mich.) University where he received his bachelor of arts in journalism. Rob and his wife Sara live in Poplar Bluff.

Wow, 22 girls made an all-conference team in a league that only has 7 teams...how does that happen?

Only 12 made all-conference.

If you're referring to honorable mention: I believe that if a player surpassed a certain minimum amount of votes, they are put in that category.

Agree....35 starters and we are going to recognize 22 of the players. I mean no disrespect to any of the players who were mentioned, but it is the main problem in society today. We hand out everything. I believe it takes away from those who really deserve it. It is the system we must follow to keep every one happy.

12 is too many for a sport which starts 5 per game. 10 is enough if not too many as well. Oka is correct in saying we live in a give a reward for anything society. Lets give all players a medal whether they deserve it or not.
