Notre Dame finishes fourth in Class 3

Posted Saturday, November 7, 2009, at 11:47 PM

The players are finishing up their warmup. I'll be back with you in a few minutes after all the pregame ceremonies.

Notre Dame is playing Logan-Rogersville for third place in Class 3. The teams split a couple of great games in round-robin play yesterday.

Game one:

1-0 Logan.

2-1 Logan. ND hitting error gives Logan-Rogersville the point.

4-2 Logan. Kill for Meghan Dohogne I think. My view was blocked a bit.

6-2 Logan. Tip sails out of bounds for ND.

6-3 Logan. Logan-Rogersville misses serve.

8-3 Logan. Hitting error by Amy Wibbenmeyer followed by an ND timeout. Both student sections are tiny today, which is a disappointment if you were reading yesterday's live blog.

9-4 Logan. Allyson Bradshaw sends a rocket off an opponent's head and out of bounds. That really had to hurt.

12-4 Logan. Longest point of the game ends with a LR kill.

I would like to retract my statement that ND's student section is tiny. There are as many students her today as there was yesterday, I'm just blind...and looking at the wrong spot.

13-8 Logan. Bulldogs on a run. Last point end on an ND overpass that just barely got over the net.

13-9 Logan. Timeout Logan-Rogersville.

13-10 Logan. The Bulldogs are having a hard time getting good attacks but they are playing excellent defense right now.

14-10 Logan. Lindsay Strieker send a middle attack just long to end the rally.

15-10 Logan. Just long for Shannon Brennan this time.

15-11 Logan. Strieker to serve.

15-12 Logan. More great defense from ND. Eventually they force an LR error.

16-12 Logan. Another just-long spike.

17-14 Logan.

18-14 Logan. Chloe Blount, who was impressive yesterday against ND, just entered the game and promptly contributed on a stuff.

20-15 Logan. Dohogne called in the net on a tip, but she says she wasn't. She seemed genuinely surprised at the call but didn't show any anger.

22-16 Logan. Bradshaw with another big kill. She's swinging hte best for ND right right.

23-16 Logan. Kill for LR.

24-16 Logan. ND gets first LR tip but can't get second.

24-17 Logan. Wildcats in the net.

24-18 Logan. Bradshaw again.

25-18 Logan. Game one ends with a Blount kill.

Game two:

3-2 Logan. Wildcats just missed a serve to give ND the serve.

6-2 Logan. Not a very pretty game right now.

7-2 Logan. Blount finds a empty spot.

Bradshaw has been taken out of the game in favor of Jamie Brugger. I think it was defense Tara Stroup wasn't happy with...not sure though.

10-3 Logan. Timeout ND.

10-4 Logan. Bulldogs win long point. Bradshaw back in to serve.

11-4 Logan. The Bulldogs are having some communication problems and a lot of uncertainly right now. They're just having to play so, so much defense that these things are bound to happen.

13-5 Logan. Hitting error by Logan-Rogersville.

13-6 Logan. Dohogne with a block followed by a tip for the point.

13-7 Logan. Wildcats send a hit out of bounds.

14-7 Logan. Another tip from Logan-Rogersville. It does that so often and very well.

14-8 Logan. Dohogne with a kill on the outside.

14-9 Logan. A break goes ND's way as another long, messy points ends on their short freeball finding a hole.

16-10 Logan. Dohogne with a kill in the middle. She is swinging well now, ND just isn't able to get good pass and good sets often enough right now.

18-10 Logan. Just as I say that Dohogne send a tip out of bounds

19-10 Logan. Bradshaw misses.

20-10 Logan. Brennan stuffed.

21-10 Logan. Timeout ND.

22-10 Logan.

23-11 Logan. Wildcats miss serve.

23-12 Logan. Blount misses a tip out of bounds.

24-13 Logan. Strieker with a kill.

25-13 Logan. Blount finishes off her team's win with a big kill from the middle.

Check back for more later. I am now officially in a race with a newspaper deadline.

How is Notre Dame doing in the class 3 third place game?

-- Posted by Mrs. Blue on Sat, Nov 7, 2009, at 9:48 PM

I think you probably know this by now, Mrs. Blue, but Notre Dame lost. I have a couple stories about the team going up soon in addition to the blogs from every game.

No stories on Siketon cheerleaders winning state? That's kind of a big deal and semoball is ignoring them but all over Notre Dame getting fourth in volleyball?

Cheerleading is not really a sport is it?

Sikeston cheerleaders winning state did not happen the same weekend as the volleyball State Tournament. This is an old story about ND volleyball. Why compare two events that didn't even take place the same weekend? I agree with the Dr. about cheerleading.

They were all over Lesterville winning a title. They should have been covering Notre Dame more! I think I'll cry about it on a completely unrelated story, a week and a half after the story was written. Cover us more, we're good too!

Boohoo.

Shouldn't there be an expiration date on some of these old stories and blog entries? Just sayin'.
