Oran takes third in Class 1Posted Thursday, May 31, 2012, at 1:29 PM
The Oran baseball team defeated Sturgeon 9-4 Thursday afternoon at Meador Park in Springfield to claim the third-place trophy in Class 1.
Sophomore Seth Ressel got the win. He pitched a complete game and gave up two earned runs on seven hits.
Ressel also went 2 for 4 at the plate with two RBIs. Six other Oran players contributed one RBI each.
The Eagles finished the season 20-9.
I will of course have much more from the game later.
