Highlights from Rachel's days in college include having a class down the hall from Chase Daniel and having NCAA wrestling champion Ben Askren hold the door open for her at Brady Commons, Mizzou's student center. She spent time covering Mizzou basketball, softball and baseball while working for the Columbia Missourian and is excited to return home to Southeast Missouri to cover local sports for semoball.com.
Rachel has covered three Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournaments for the Southeast Missourian and semoball.com, and she'll see you courtside again this year.
Hayti/Mizzou grad William Moore hosting hometown football camp
Per a press release that arrived in my email inbox this morning, Hayti and Mizzou graduate William Moore will host a youth football camp at Hayti High School on June 21.
Moore has been a safety for the Atlanta Falcons for five seasons and has been a starter since 2010.
The camp, for ages 7 through 12, will be held from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The release says the children will have "the opportunity to work on their football skills, sportsmanship and teamwork, while building self-esteem both on and off the field. Each participant will receive a T-shirt, lunch and refreshments. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet William and other NFL players onsite."
Registration is free but will be limited to 200 kids. You can find the registration form here and the waiver form here.
The registration form lists where to return the completed forms to and who to contact if you have questions.
