Rachel Crader is the editor of semoball.com. She graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in May of 2009 before spending the summer covering the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Highlights from Rachel's days in college include having a class down the hall from Chase Daniel and having NCAA wrestling champion Ben Askren hold the door open for her at Brady Commons, Mizzou's student center. She spent time covering Mizzou basketball, softball and baseball while working for the Columbia Missourian and is excited to return home to Southeast Missouri to cover local sports for semoball.com.

Why should woodland and Scott city be seeded above advance and Oran?

I understand Woodland and Scott city played in the finals of woodland tournament and advance and Oran played for third in OIT....but the OIT is a much tougher tournament.

Any Reasons?

With Cape winning the Lutheran North tourney, I would give them the #1 seed right now.

This year, I would challenge the much tougher tournament argument.... Almost every other year I have watched basketball in SEMO I would agree

A lot of times seeding can be influenced on how much the coaches fight for their teams. If somebody ends up higher or lower than you think that could have something to do with it.

i agree that orana nd advance are on the same level ir not better than woodland and sc but i figured the seeds would be different. oran, advance, woodland, and sc are 20 point better teams than any team below them. no way meadow heights is on the same level as any of those teams. wide range of teams this year

Yes in 1960. They beat Advance 76-73 which was way before the three point line was introduced so that was a really high score! Woodland also played for the Championship in 63 and 76 but lost them 2 years.

A plus is more parity is everywhere this Christmsas. Having four to six teams with a chance to win both tournaments is a welcomed plus. Hasn't been that way in recent years. History suggests changes happen when the time is right.

Dustin, I'm pretty sure it was called Woodland high school at the time. The adress of the actual school was in lutesville until I believe in 1986 or 87 when the Lutesville post office was closed and the Lutesville zip code was thrown out but I'm pretty sure it was Woodland High School in 60.

What a classy gesture by Del Bogan; after accepting his MVP plaque, he proceeds to go to the Notre Dame team and congratulates each team member on their championship. Not only a great player, a great young man,as well!!
