Bernie and AdvancePosted Sunday, September 13, 2009, at 2:29 AM
Once again I want to mention, I am not a trained sports writer. I just click around with this blog for fun and the love of local high school sports. So, if poor grammar and missed spelled words ruin your blogging experience....please move on to the next blog.
With the Woodland Tournament and the SEMO Classic over with, it's time to settle in for some regular season volleyball.
We're going to load up the old Chrysler van and head into the "flat" country Monday. The Lady Wildcats are off to Bernie, home of the Mules.
Last years JV match up with Bernie was one of the most exciting games of our 2008 season. A three set match,
28/26 Bernie won, 25/21 Leopold won and a 25/23 Bernie won. You can tell by the scores the games were intense. If any of Bernie's 2008 JV players have moved to varsity, and I'm sure they have, we should be in for some exciting volleyball Monday night. I did not attend the SEMO classic, it's the only Leopold volleyball games we miss each year, but I did note Bernie's action there. (Thank you semocrat08 and drawmules for the information you posted here on the SEMO Classic.)
On Thursday Advance comes to the "hills" to play on our home court. Will they want revenge after loosing to the Lady Wildcats in the Woodland Tournament? Yes, I'd imagine so. Have they been practicing, honing their skills to take on Leopold? I'd bet on it. I honestly thought the Lady Hornets would play Leopold tighter in the championship match at Woodland. I also took note of the action Advance had in the SEMO Classic. Lady Wildcats...be on our toes Thursday night.
On a side note. Leopold did have a regular season game with Meadow Heights September 7th. Both the JV and varsity Wildcats won that night. JV won 25/17 25/22 and the varsity won their match 25/16 25/11.

Marcia, and her husband Tony, are avid Leopold Wildcat fans. Win, lose or draw, volleyball, baseball, softball, basketball, they're in the stands, cheering for the mighty Blue and White.
Living in southern Bollinger County, they also enjoy watching the Zalma Bulldogs. The only thing that takes them away from local school sports is farming. That, thank heavens, usually starts about the time the school year is ending in the spring, so there is little conflict. They live in the Glennon community, with their dog Jay Jay, and their cat Miss Addie Lee. Hot topics One Last Volleyball Blog(7 ~ 2:11 PM, Dec 17)

Marcia, our two teams will both be heading south to play close to each other tomorrow night! We play Richland tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised if one of our buses follows the other one into southern Stoddard County.
