The Wildcats Take Down the Panthers

Posted Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at 9:29 PM

What a game! What a game!! The Wildcats hosted the Panthers tonight in a nail biting, foot stomping, hair pulling game. Before I get to the Varsity match it wouldn't be fair to not recognize the JV. The JV Wildcats took off with an early lead and never gave up to win the game.

The Varsity match however, was a totally different story. The Wildcats started off the game with a comfortable lead and held onto it until the fourth quarter. The Panthers cut the lead early in the fourth quarter to two. After that the Wildcats kept getting the lead up, then the Panthers would cut it back down. Though they never led in the game, Meadow Heights tied up the Wildcats with mere seconds to go. Then, the Panthers fouled (correction!!) Kyle Stroder who made his second free throw to put Leopold back on top with two seconds to go. The Panthers took the ball back down to their goal but wasn't able to get a shot in and knocked it out of bounds with .1 seconds to go. Then in a flash John Bohnsack threw the ball to Ryan Davis who got a shot in for the Wildcats. Sadly that shot wasn't in quick enough but the Wildcats still won 63-62!!!

Oh it was an exciting game! The Wildcats fought hard. Great job boys!!!!

Great coverage of the game. It was a nail bitter for sure. I thought we were going to relive the Woodland Tourament game with Meadow Heights all over again. Good job Wildcats!!
