My favorite sport begins this week!
Posted Sunday, August 29, at 1:47 AM
It's been over nine months since I've watched a high school volleyball game.
It's no secret volleyball always has and always will be my favorite high school sport. Feel free to ask me why the next time you see me at a sporting event.
This week I plan on taking an early look at some of the teams I feel have the best chance to advance to the final four this season.
I will attend the Bloomfield / Cape Central game on Monday, the Bernie / Sikeston game on Tuesday, the Logan-Rogersville / Mountain Grove game on Thursday, the championship game of the Woodland Volleyball Tournament on Friday and the Notre Dame Volleyballfest on Saturday.
By the time the week has concluded I will have watched 15 volleyball teams. Five of these teams (Leopold, Bell City, Logan-Rogersville, Notre Dame and Perryville) are state-ranked. And, in my opinion, at least two other teams I will be watching this week (Bloomfield and Bernie) should also be state-ranked.
I'll see you later this week Southeast Missouri volleyball fans! And if anyone is reading from Rogersville or Mountain Grove I'll see you on Thursday when the No. 2 ranked team in Class 3, Logan-Rogersville, takes on Mountain Grove.
A pool play schedule for the Notre Dame Volleyballfest scheduled for Sept. 3-4 is located here:Pool Play Schedule
