Sikeston's Fred Thatch gets offer from Missouri

Sikeston freshman Fred Thatch received an offer from the University of Missouri on Monday, according to a tweet from Thatch's AAU team, the St. Louis Eagles 15U team.

The 6-foot-2 Thatch is the lone freshman finalist for boys basketball at this year's Semoball Awards. He averaged a double-double for the Bulldogs last season, finishing with a team-leading 18 points per game and 11 rebounds per game.

Thatch was named all-SEMO Conference and helped lead Sikeston to a runner-up finish in Class 4, District 1.

Tulsa and Georgetown are two schools that I've heard are after Thatch as well.

He didn't even make all state honors and also has to grow a ton before he will get that kind of offers.

He needs to work on a jump shot.
