Live updates: Webb City at Cape Central
The top-ranked Webb City football team leads Cape Central 14-7 at halftime in a Class 4 state semifinal Saturday at Tiger Stadium.
A 52-yard run by Aaron Harris set the Tigers up in Cardinals territory on the first scoring drive of the game. Kway'Chon Chisom scored on a 1-yard run to give the Tigers a 7-0 lead with 2:39 left in the first quarter.
Webb City responded on the next drive when Keaton Burroughs capped a four-yard scoring drive with a 27-yard run at the 1:42 mark of the quarter. The Cardinals took advantage of a fumble by Al Young and took a 14-7 lead on a 5-yard run by Kaleb Potts as time expired in the quarter.
Central got a big defensive stop late in the second quarter, forcing a turnover on downs at its own 17. Neither team scored in the quarter.
Harris accounted for 70 of the Tigers' 113 yards rushing in the first half. Chisom added 37 yards on nine rushes.
Webb City has 130 yards rushing in the first half, led by 90 from Burroughs. Webb City quarterback Tyson Roderique has 22 yards on five carries.
Central will take on five-time defending state champion Webb City in a Class 4 semifinal Saturday at Tiger Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.

Webb City (13-0) has won 41 straight games, dating back to September 2013. Along with Class 1 powerhouse Valle Catholic, the Cardinals have won a state-record 13 state titles as a program. A preview of the Tigers' game against Webb City can be found here.
Central (9-4) is back in the final four for the third straight season. One of the big reasons why is the emergence of sophomore running back Aaron Harris, who leads the team with 208 rushes for 1,525 yards and 11 touchdowns while also contributing 81 tackles -- a team-high 13 for loss -- on defense as an inside linebacker.
The Tigers have also benefited from consistent play on the defensive end. Over the last seven games, Central has allowed 19.7 points per game -- a nearly 10-point improvement from the season's first half.
