Al Young verbally commits to Southeast Missouri State
Cape Central senior wide receiver Al Young tweeted a picture Monday indicating he'll be signing a National Letter of Intent later this week to play college football for coach Tom Matukewicz at Southeast Missouri State.

The 6-foot Young will sign his LOI at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cape Central High School as part of National Signing Day.
Young, who's a three-star recruit on Rivals, had narrowed his options to Southeast, Murray State, Missouri and Nebraska. He has maintained relationships with several Redhawks players, including running back DeMichael Jackson and wide receiver Paul McRoberts.
The first scholarship offer he received was from Southeast in October 2014.
The most decorated player in school history, Young's name litters Central's record books. He holds single-season school records for touchdowns, receiving touchdowns, yards per catch, points scored and interceptions.
He's the reigning Semoball Awards Male Athlete of the Year, which is awarded annually to the top male athlete among more than 50 schools in Southeast Missouri. He's also the 2015 Carr Trophy winner, given each year to the most outstanding player in the SEMO Conference.
Matukewicz cannot comment on specific recruits until they've signed due to NCAA rules.
Southeast will hold a Signing Day Party on Wednesday night starting at 5 p.m. in the Show Me Center front meeting rooms prior to the Redhawks women's basketball game. A game ticket must be purchased to get into the party, which is no additional cost. Food and drinks are provided.
