Notre Dame softball senior Abby Rollet signs with Jefferson College

Notre Dame softball left fielder Abby Rollet has signed with Jefferson College, who finished ninth at the 2014 and 2015 National Junior College Athletic Association World Series.

As a starter this season, the senior had a .437 average (38-for-87) and broke the school single-season home run record. She hit her record-breaking 10th homer in the Class 3 state semifinals.

Rollet transferred to Notre Dame from St. Vincent before her junior year and was an integral part of last year's Bulldog team that advanced to the final four, breaking a five-year drought.

In this year's final four, Rollet went 5-for-7 in two games, and the Bulldogs placed third after losing in the championship game the season before.

Rollet is at least the fourth Bulldog senior to sign with a college program. Payton Friga and Lindsey Elfrink joined Three Rivers College, and catcher Morgan Duschell committed to Auburn University at Montgomery.

There were nine 12th graders on this year's team, and eight were starters.

Jefferson College is a community college located in Hillsboro, Missouri.
