Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament seeding

The seeds for the 2016 Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament were determined Sunday night at the Isle Casino Cape Girardeau. Charleston earned the top overall seed with seven of the 16 first-place votes. The Blue Jays are currently 4-0.

The rest of the seedings are listed below with the team's vote total listed in parenthesis, followed by its current record. The head coaches of the 16 teams in the tournament determined the seeding by voting. Coaches couldn't vote for their own team.

No. 2 seed = Cape Girardeau Central (9 second-place votes, 3-0)

No. 3 = Jackson (15 votes, 2-1)

No. 4 = Scott County Central (10, 3-2)

No. 5 = Notre Dame (11, 1-1)

No. 6 = Woodland (10, 3-0)

No. 7 = Advance (12, 2-1)

No. 8 = Scott City (8, 2-1)

No. 9 = Oran (9, 1-2)

No. 10 = Meadow Heights (12, 3-2)

No. 11 = Bell City (12, 2-1)

No. 12 = Chaffee (10, 1-3)

No. 13 = Oak Ridge (13, 2-1)

No. 14 = Delta (9 votes, 2-2)

No. 15 = Kelly (15, 0-2)

No. 16 = Leopold (0-3)

The tournament begins Monday, December 26th at 9 a.m. The championship game is Dec. 30th at 7:30 p.m.
