Jackson baseball's Braeden Dobbs signs with Fontbonne University
Jackson baseball senior Braeden Dobbs signed a national letter of intent with Fontbonne University on May 3.
Dobbs was honorable mention all-district and all-conference last season and is a starter on an Indians team that recently earned the No. 1 seed in the Class 5 District 1 tournament.
Dobbs is hitting .416 with nine doubles and 28 RBIs. On the mound, he's 5-0 with a 1.90 ERA, as of May 9. Dobbs also had the walk-off single in Jackson's 1-0 win over Ste. Genevieve on March 21 at Capaha Field.
Fontbonne is located in a St. Louis suburb and competes in Division III. The Griffins went 18-21 this past season and narrowly missed out on a conference tournament berth.
Dobbs is the second Jackson athlete to sign with Fontbonne recently. Soccer and basketball player Rylee Stafford signed with the school on April 27.
