Notre Dame softball first baseman Alex Lovell signed with John A. Logan College on Monday at Notre Dame Regional High School.
Lovell batted .490 this past season as the Bulldogs advanced to the Class 3 state championship game, where they fell to Monett. Lovell also had a .555 on-base percentage and a .729 slugging percentage in her first season as an everyday starter for Notre Dame.
Lovell smacked 15 doubles and two home runs, including the go-ahead homer in a regular-season game against Kelly, and had 42 RBIs plus 34 runs scored and four stolen bases. She was also a first-team All-SEMO conference selection and an all-district selection in Class 3 District 1.
John A. Logan College is located in Carterville, Illinois, and has a junior college softball program. Logan has won four conference titles and produced six National Junior College Athletic Association All-Americans, according to the team's website.
