Scott City's Lane Prince signs with Central Methodist University
Scott City senior pitcher and shortstop Lane Prince signed to play baseball at Central Methodist University on Wednesday.
As a junior, Prince batted .400 (38-for-95) with a .502 on-base percentage. He had five doubles, one triple and two home runs plus 12 stolen bases, 23 RBIs and 31 runs scored.
He also had a 0.26 ERA in 19 2/3 innings, striking out 26 and walking eight. He was a first team all-conference and all-district pick.
Prince went to Jackson High School his freshman and sophomore years before transferring to Scott City last year.
Prince will join three other area players at Central Methodist. Kelly's Logan Hodgkiss, Jonathon Tyler and Wyatt LeDure signed with the program in February.
Central Methodist is located in Fayette, Missouri, and has an NAIA athletics program. CMU went 42-17 and advanced to the NAIA Tournament last year.
