LIVE BLOG: Class 1-2 girls soccer state championships
St. Vincent is back in the Class 1 state title game.
The two-time defending state champions scored three goals in the second half and pulled away from New Covenant Academy (13-8) for a 3-0 win in a semifinal Wednesday at the Swope Soccer Village in in Kansas City, Missouri.
After creating numerous chances in the first half but having nothing to show for it the Indians (16-7) scored 12 minutes into the second half.
Reese Barber received a pass on the left wing from Megan Lipe, cut inside onto her right foot and rifled a shot into the left side of the net.
Kalli Seabaugh doubled the lead in the 71st minute, receiving a centering pass from Genevieve Lipe at the top of the penalty box, turning and scoring. Barber started the move with a pass to Genevieve Lipe down the left wing.
Anna Schwartz capped the scoring with a goal with five minutes left off an assist from Barber.
The Indians will go for their third consecutive Class 1 state championship at 4 p.m. Thursday.

St. Vincent dominated possession of the ball and held New Covenant Academy to zero shots in the first half but couldn't find the back of the net in this Class 1 semifinal at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri.
It's scoreless at halftime.
The Indians had the first shot of the game 30 seconds in and had numerous chances to score, including an open net in the second minute.
None of those chances turned into a goal. St. Vincent will look for the breakthrough goal when the second half starts.

Hannah Miller scored on a header off a Livia Wunderlich free kick in the 72th minute, and Notre Dame girls soccer beat Pleasant Hill 3-2 to advance to the Class 2 state championship for the third consecutive season.
Miller's goal gave the Bulldogs (25-1-1) their first lead of the game.
Pleasant Hill (23-2) scored first, and it was 1-all at halftime. The Chicks retook the lead 12 minutes into the second half, only for Julia Williams to score on a looping goal three minutes later to tie the game.
It remained that way until Miller's headed goal.
Mackenzie Dimarco scored both goals for the Chicks.
Notre Dame will face the winner of the Visitation Academy-Pembroke Hill semifinal at 2 p.m. Thursday in the championshipo . The Bulldogs will be going for their second state championship in three seasons. They lost in the final last year.

At halftime, Notre Dame and Pleasant Hill are locked into a 1-all tie in a Class 2 girls soccer semifinal at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri.
Notre Dame dominated play early with Megan Heisserer hitting the post in the eighth minute. It was Pleasant Hill who scored first, though.
Mackenzie Dimarco's shot from the right side of the field floated into the goal in the 15th minute. It was the Chicks' first shot of the game.
The Bulldogs responded when Allison Buchheit go onto a through ball, took the ball around the goalkeeper and deposited it into the back of the net in the 27th minute.
Notre Dame came close several times to taking the lead, but it remains 1-all at halftime.

It's semifinal Wednesday.
Notre Dame and St. Vincent are both set to compete for a spot in the their respective championship matches. It would be the third straight Class 2 final apperance for Notre Dame and third consecutive Class 1 championship game for St. Vincent.
Notre Dame is up first with a semifinal game at noon against Pleasant Hill, the No. 1-ranked team in the Class 2 state coaches poll. Check out a more in-depth preview here.
