Jackson put together another very good defensive performance, forcing two fumbles and two interceptions, in its 21-20 victory against Eureka on Friday night.
The Indians (8-0) move into the driver's seat in the bid for the Class 5 District 1 title, though they will have to fight off the hangover of an emotional win against the No. 2 team in the state to take on Parkway West (5-3) and -- possibly -- heralded quarterback Blaine Gabbert on Friday. Jackson did show some weaknesses against the pass as Eureka scored on two passing plays, including a 64-yarder to take the lead for the first time at 20-14 with 4:06 remaining. Gabbert, who has committed to Nebraska but may also look at some other schools (including Missouri) before signing, has been out with an injury. Sophomore Tyler Gabbert threw three touchdown passes in Parkway West's 42-0 win Friday at Seckman, according to stltoday.com. Jackson also may have to worry about the extent of the left forearm injury for leading rusher Adam Zweigart. Jackson kicks butt!
By no means was I serious, just trying to get some comments on this page. I thought posting a comment like that would wake someone out of their blog coma.

Eureka was rank #2 and Jackson #5. Hard to imagine that anyone would think Jackson would win in a walkover.
I was really surprised to see Eureka coming close to beating Jackson at home. I have seen some close games this year, but Eureka came really close to shocking Jackson. The Indians better get their heads out of their butts if they want to get to the playoffs.
