Good day for Mizzou, Daniel

The showdown everyone in Big 12 country has been waiting for all month was won by Missouri 36-28.
That may be enough to propel the Missouri Tigers to No. 1 in The Associated Press poll. The BCS and some computers still might have West Virginia in front of Mizzou. (Some computers might even have Ohio State ahead of Missouri.) The Mountaineers still have a game at home against Pittsburgh, but they crushed ranked Connecticut 66-20 on Saturday. For Mizzou, the mission is simple: Beat Oklahoma in the rematch Saturday at San Antonio and earn a spot in the BCS championship game. The opponent could be West Virginia, or it could be Ohio State if the Mountaineers falter. Here's a look at what the three teams have done: Missouri Beat Illinois 40-34 Beat Ole Miss 38-25 Beat Western Michigan 52-24 Beat Illinois State 38-17 Beat Nebraska 41-6 (hard to believe that was the first conference game) LOST AT OKLAHOMA 41-31 Beat Texas Tech 41-10 Beat Iowa State 42-28 Beat Colorado 55-10 Beat Texas A&M 40-26 Beat Kansas State 49-32 Beat Kansas 36-28 West Virginia Beat Western Michigan 62-24 (common foe with Missouri) Beat Marshall 48-23 Beat Maryland 31-14 Beat East Carolina 48-7 LOST AT SOUTH FLORIDA 21-13 Beat Syracuse 55-14 Beat Mississippi State 38-13 Beat Rutgers 31-3 Beat Louisville 38-31 Beat Cincinnati 28-23 Beat Connecticut 66-20 (playing for style points?) Plays Pittsburgh on Saturday Ohio State Beat Youngstown State 38-6 Beat Akron 20-2 Beat Washington 33-14 Beat Northwestern 58-7 Beat Minnesota 30-7 Beat Purdue 23-7 Beat Kent State 48-3 Beat Michigan State 24-17 Beat Penn State 37-17 Beat Wisconsin 38-17 LOST TO ILLINOIS 28-21 (at home, common foe with Missouri) Beat Michigan 14-3
Kansas also has one loss but sounds like they will drop behind two-loss teams Georgia and USC at the very least, and possibly Boston College, Virginia Tech and LSU as well. A recent computer ranking had Kansas with the worst schedule among the top 11 teams heading into this weekend. In order from hardest to easiest: Florida, Georgia, LSU, Oregon, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Arizona State, West Virginia, Missouri, Ohio State and Kansas. The four weakest schedules are one-loss teams; the seven hardest schedules are two-loss teams. It was funny to hear Mizzou radio broadcasters talking about the atmosphere being as good as any SEC game and how the players would respond to the pressure. That's an admission that Mizzou played one or two games all season with championship implications whereas LSU and Georgia face about four big games in conference. Georgia lost at Tennessee (a decisive 35-14) and to South Carolina but beat Oklahoma State nonconference and won at Alabama in overtime before beating defending champion Florida, Auburn and the surprisingly good Kentucky team.
Chase Daniel was an incredible 40-for-49 for 361 yards and three touchdowns and no interceptions. Coming in, he had 3,590 yards on a 69.3 percent completion rate with 30 touchdown and nine interceptions. How does that put him in the Heisman race? Florida quarterback Tim Tebow threw for three touchdowns and ran for two Saturday against Florida State. Coming in, he had passed for 2,870 yards (68.5 completion rate, 26 TDs, six interceptions) and rushed for 749 and 20 touchdowns. The sophomore is the first player to run for more than 20 touchdowns. Arkansas running back Darren McFadden, a junior, finished with 1,725 yards ruhing in 12 games (143.8 per game) and 15 touchdowns. Daniel, a junior, stacks up pretty well. and pass for more than 20 touchdowns Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

think you MIZZOU for a great season go get oklahoma. its time for new blood in the BIG12 go NO.1 MIZZOU.
we beat kansas!!!!cant belive it!now it time for that ol sweet revenge with Oklahoma
i love how the top 3 teams with the hardest schedules are SEC. In my opinion, West Virginia should not even be in the top ten!!! They lost to South Florida for crying out loud. I remember playing NCAA football again USF just to rack up the score!
Now a Mizzou, Ohio State game would be super interesting!!! GOOOOOOO TIGERS!
I agree that MIZZOU-Ohio would be a good game but I have a feeling MIZZOU is going to get a big shaft from the BCS when its all said and done.I hate to say it but I feel it comin.
If they beat Oklahoma there will be no shaft given. How could you be No. 1 in the BCS, win against Oklahoma, and be given the shaft? Are they going to say, well you beat oklahoma, but you know it was only by a touchdown so were going to put you back to No. 3, okay well good day. Yeah right. I'll burn the mothertrucker down and you will be right beside with the match.
I think we all know what will occur.. If Mizou wins and WV wins, then they will play for all the marbles. If WVU wins they are in, and they will win against Pitt. Mizzou, has a much tougher road to hoe, as OU is a much better opponent, perhaps as good or better than most of the top 10. If OU wins, then Ohio State backs in and plays for the title. The rub comes if both Mizzou and WVU lose, then it becomes a mess!!
But, Mizzou will win, because.......
I still believe!!!
Why the discussion? Missouri is a better football team that Oklahoma. Doesn't anybody remember that Missouri was beating Oklahoma in the 4th quarter? That game was in Norman and we didn't have a running attack, because Temple was injured. Remember how Texas A&M rattled Oklahoma a couple weeks ago? They lost Bradford and all of a sudden they weren't even as good as Kansas State on a bad day. It's going to be a good game and after hearing alot of talk today seems as if No. 1 is an underdog going into the game. That has to be dumbest thing I have ever heard of.
