West Plains (where they have wireless in the West Plains Civic Center).
I have departed Columbia to see if the Scott County Central boys and Delta girls can punch their tickets for the Class 1 final four next weekend in Columbia.
My prediction for the Class 4 final: Notre Dame 68, St. Charles West 62.
Notre Dame's 6-foot-8 Ryan Willen presents matchup problems for the Warriors, who also are banged up and playing back-to-back games for the first time in a long time. When you have a key player (Kramer Soderberg) with a groin and hip injury and other players with leg injuries, playing two games in two days and having to work against full-court defense won't be easy.
Willen's presence will help Austin Greer have another solid game as well.
Lincoln Prep had some quickness with its dribble penetration in the first half but the Tigers had troubles shooting the ball in the second half. They probably wouldn't crack the top three of teams Notre Dame has played this season (behind Jackson, Scott County Central and Gateway Tech; and they probably would have troubles with Sikeston and Michael Porter as well).
St. Charles West will be able keep the final close because of their ability to shoot the 3-pointer. The Warriors were 9 of 22 in the semifinal overtime win against Webb City with some pivotal shots from outside.
