Blake Parr passed for 342 yards and five touchdowns without playing much of the second half Friday in Kennett's 44-0 win at Portageville.
Sikeston scored on nearly every possession in its 47-18 home victory against Cape Central. Eli Jackson rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns on just 14 carries, all in the first half. Quarterback Charlie Bohannon ran for two touchdowns and completed 4 of 6 passes for 131 yards, with one TD pass of 58 yards to Jordan Williams. For Cape Central, which turned the ball over three times with no takeaways, Cantrell Andrews had 173 yards rushing on 33 carries and two touchdowns. Andrews had 131 rushing yards after halftime and left the game with an injury after an unsuccessful conversion run late in the game. Central QB Andrew Williams completed 3 of 8 passes for 83 yards. He hooked up with Brandon Pickens on a 67-yard touchdown play that brought Central within 7-6.
Chaffee recovered seven Scott City turnovers -- three in the first half and four on consecutive possessions in the second half -- to post a 28-6 win. Chaffee QB Aaron Horrell was 9-for-19 for 146 yards and three touchdowns. He was picked off twice after throwing just one interception in the first four weeks. Horrell hooked up on a 60-yard TD pass to Josh Roberts to open scoring. After a Chaffee punt deflected off one of Scott City's blockers, Jacob Atkinson recovered at the Scott City 38. On the next play, Horrell passed to Collin Dannenmueller for the score. Scott City's turnovers helped offset the two interceptions thrown by Horrell. When the Rams were unable to get a punt off due to a bad snap, the resulting fumble was recovered by Daniel Lawson at the 11-yard line. On fourth-and-9, the Red Devils went into the bag of tricks for a reverse, with Dannenmueller running in from 10 yards out for a 20-0 lead. After another Scott City turnover, Chaffee drove 42 yards for a score. Daniel Lawson, who recovered two fumbles on the night, had a 32-yard run on the drive that set up a 7-yard pass from Horrell to Trenton Horman. Scott City's lone score was a 62-yard run in the fourth period by sophomore Garett Schaefer. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

Go Chaffee!!!! I think the tide has finally turned. I thought both teams played a good game. I did feel a little sorry for the SC players, I noticed that in the beginning of the fourth quarter, alot of the Scott City fans got up and left the stands, it was very disrespectful to their players. Chaffee deserved this win!!!!!!!!!!!!!
