Jackson senior linebacker Blake Peiffer has received a full scholarship offer to play football at Southeast Missouri State. He said he is still waiting on some other schools to offer him and likely would not make any decision until after the season.

Peiffer made 112 tackles last season as a junior. His father, Dan Peiffer, played at Southeast Missouri State in the 1970s and then went on to play center for the Chicago Bears.

Peiffer said other schools that have some interest include Kansas State, Nebraska and Missouri although he doesn't know how serious Missouri is about him.

"There are a couple people looking at me," Peiffer said. "But I'm going to see how it falls into place after the season. I'm glad to finally get one under my belt. I'm just going to wait and see and wait until the end of the year and make my decision."

I asked Peiffer whether he grew up watching Southeast football and whether he had a favorite college football program while growing up.

"Really I didn't start watching college football until a couple years back," Peiffer said. "I watched more NFL. At SEMO, I like the coaches there. It doesn't seem like a bad place. But like I said, I'm not going to pick anywhere yet."
