Scott County 98, NH 63, end of game
Scott County has won its 13th state championship in school history and its first since 1993. Read more about the game in Sunday's Southeast Missourian. Drew Thomas and Bobby Hatchett each scored 29 points. Porter had 24.
Scott County 83, NH 51 after three quarters. The Braves are jusgt one quarter away from their first state title since 1993. Bobby Hatchett is having one of his best games this season. He has netted 27 points through three quarters. Drew Thomas has 24 points and Otto Porter has 22.

Scott County shot 64.3 percent from the field in the first half. It forced 13 steals Scott County broke the record for the most points scored during one half in a final four game for any class. The previous record was 56 by Greenwood in the 1991 Class 1A championship game.
Scott County 56, NH 35 with about 1:25 left in first half Scott County looks to be running away with this one. I'll give more details at halftime.
Scott County 34, Newtown Harris 14 end of the quarter Bobby Hatchett is on absolute fire. He drained two 3-pointers late in the first quarter to help his team build a 20-point lead. And one sidenote is that Hatchett, who had 16 points in the first quarter, is without his mohawk haircut. He shaved sometime after last game. I guess Hatchett isn't too superstitious.
Scott County 27, Newtown Harris 14 with 1:27 left in the first quarter Otto Porter has joined the scoring party. He has eight points.
Scott County 21, Newtown Harris 12 with 2:49 left in the first quarter Bobby Hatchett and Drew Thomas are doing most of the scoring with 15 points combined. Scott County has the early nine-point lead.
The game in underway here. Got started at about 12:25.
We're delayed a little bit. 12:15 and there is still another 9 minutes of warmups scheduled and then introductions so expect a delay.
Well, I just arrived here at Mizzou Arena after a nice early morning drive from Cape Girardeau which passed by relatively quickly by listening to the band Arcade Fire all the way. I'm now sitting here in the nosebleed media seats waiting for the Class 1 championship game to get underway. Tipoff is at 12:20 p.m. I plan to keep a live blog during the game for all of you who couldn't make it here today. I usually don't make predicitions because I don't believe reporters should make predictions but I am going to do it anyway. I say Scott County wins by double figures. Hmmm, only 15 points scored by SCC in the 4th quarter. I would guess they had the running clock and Cookson cleared the bench.
