Davis to miss rest of season for SEMO womenPosted Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at 5:21 PM
The SEMO women's basketball team has suffered a huge blow with today's news that freshman guard Jasmine Davis will miss the rest of the season.
An MRI revealed that Davis tore her anterior cruciate ligament and sprained her medial cruciate ligament in her left knee. The injury occurred in the final minute of Monday's 56-53 win over Jacksonville State as she went down hard after being fouled. She eventually had to be carried off the court. Davis is SEMO's leading scorer with a 10-point average. She leads the OVC with an 87.7 free-throw percentage. Davis played in too many games to qualify for a medical redshirt, meaning she will have three years of eligibility remaining beginning next season. Sheesh it always seems like SEMO teams always get the worst of the injuries.
Wow, what a bummer. Especially since she can't get a medical redshirt.
Wow - hate that. The women were already down. Maybe they can find someone else to step up. Just looking at the OVC website the rest of the teams are pretty bad. So maybe we can finish in the upper half.
