SEMO finally displays defense to notch big winPosted Saturday, November 26, 2011, at 10:30 PM
The SEMO men's basketball team turned in its best all-around performance of the young season Saturday to beat visiting Miami of Ohio 64-57.
Southeast needed to play well because Miami ranks among the better teams the Redhawks will face. Maybe not quite the caliber of Missouri or Oregon but every bit as talented as any OVC squad and more talented than most. The Redhawks, for the first time this season against a Division I opponent, displayed the type of defense it will take for them to have a shot at cracking the upper division of the OVC. SEMO is talented enough and has enough offensive weapons to make some serious noise in the conference. It remains to be seen if the Redhawks can consistently play the type of defense required for that to happen. Saturday's performance was certainly a step in the right direction. |
