Live from Columbia: Scott County 83, Fair Play 58 FINAL

Here are a few stats that stuck out from the game....

Scott County shot 37.5 percent from the free-throw line (9-of-24).

D.D. Gillespie and Otto Porter both scored 21 points for the Braves.

Porter grabbed 11 rebounds, five on the offensive end.

Bobby Hatchett added seven assists.

It's a final. Scott County wins the third-place game 83-58. Scott County was never threatened. The awards are being presented.

I'm heading off to the media room, then I'll be back when the Delta girls game gets under way.


The running clock has started her in Columbia as Scott County opened a 30-point lead. But Fair Paly just hit a free throw to stop the running clock. With 2:43 left, Scott County leads 78-49.


Caleb Johnson's high school career came to an end when he fouled out with 6:15 left in the fourth. Otto Porter picked up his fourth personal moments later. Scott County leads 73-46 with 5:35 left in the contest.


Scott County scored 24 points in the quarter to take a 66-39 lead heading into the fourth. D.D. Gillespie had a couple rebounds off missed free throws where he grabbed the board and layed it in for a pair. He leads the BRaves with 19 points entering the fourth.


The Braves' offense has slowed a little, and Fair Play hs closed to 60-36 with 2:00 left in the third quarter.


Caleb Johnson picked up his fourth personal foul with 6:00 left in the third quarter. The Braves have doubled up the Hornets, leading 53-26 with 5:18 left in the third.


We've reached halftime, and Scott County enjoys a comfortable 42-22 lead. Drew Thomas leads the Braves with 14 points. Otto Porter has 12 points, while D.D. Gillespie has 10.

Thomas and Porter are both credited with six rebounds. Scott County shot 47.4 percent in the first half, while Fair Play shot 29.2 percent.

Scott County's passing has been crisp throughout. They've thrown in a couple no-look passes for good measure.


Otto Porter just picked up his third personal foul with 1:02 left in the first half. Scott County leads 40-20.


D.D. Gillespie and Toot Porter lead the way for Scott County with 10 points each. The Braves lead 34-18 with 3:23 left in the first half.


Oh my, Drew Thomas just tried a monster one-handed dunk, but fouled on the play. He made 1-of-2 free throws, pushing Scott County's lead to 25-10 with 6:32 left in the first half.


We've reached the end of the first quarter, and Scott County enjoys a 22-10 lead. The Braves have looked sharp, combining crisp passes with their pressure defense.


Fair Play likes the 3-pointer. The problem for the Hornets can't hit them. Scott County's pressure has led to a couple of easy baskets. The Braves lead 20-6 with 1:40 left in the first.


Otto Porter has a couple putbacks off rebounds for the Braves. Scott County leads 12-6 with 3:59 left in the first quarter.
