Showdown finals
Forrest City opened the second half Saturday night with a 13-4 run and pulled away from Vashon to win the 20th annual Poplar Bluff Showdown 67-47.
In other games, Warren Central beat Union City for third, 90-66, Harrison beat Poplar Bluff, 75-41, for fifth while Meridian beat Tulsa McLain, 71-40, for seventh.
Kelson Stewart scored 10 of his game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter to lead Forrest City (11-2) while fellow all-tournament sections Stephon Weaver chipped in 16 points Marcus Britt added 13.
Vashon (7-3) was led by Leon Powell's 16 points.
Powell was joined on the all-tournament team by teammate Alburem Doss, who added nine points in the loss.
Matt Sundberg of Harrison and Warren Central's Jeremy Anderson were also named to the all-tournament team.
In last year's semifinal, Forrest City led 54-53 heading into the final quarter but got to the free-throw line just twice while Vashon hit 14-of-18 and won by seven points.
It's been a long week. I'm sleeping for the next two days.
