Brian Rosener is the keeper of the Semoball Cup which is presented to the school with the most successful season. It is based on a formula that takes into account the combined winning percentage of all sports teams plus bonus points for advancement in postseason play for both teams and individuals. The bonus points are divided by the number of teams a school fields. Rosener has been the sports editor for the Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, Mo. since December 2001. He was born and raised in St. Louis, where he attended Lindbergh High School and Webster University. He is married to Jennifer, a Poplar Bluff native, has a son Jack and a dog named Satchel who stands in for his @semoballBrian photo.

Tyler Hansbrough's junior year at North Carolina has begun much the same way his sophomore did, as the leading vote-getter on The Associated Press' preseason All-America team.

The 6-foot-9 forward was one vote shy of a unanimous pick Monday and was joined by senior center Roy Hibbert of Georgetown, senior guard Chris Lofton of Tennessee, senior guard Drew Neitzel of Michigan State and junior guard Darren Collison of UCLA.

The team was selected by the 72-member panel that votes in the weekly Top 25 poll.

Tyler was VERY smart going to play for NC, what a waste it would be for him playing at Semo or Mizzou. He would have to be stupid to turn down a chance to play for Roy Williams.

He might be a great college player, but he will only be a NBA journeyman at best. He is not athletic enough for the NBA. I remember another missouri native that got honors similiar to this and he is playing somewhere in europe.

Chris Carrawell went to Cardinal Ritter in Saint Louis and then on to Duke University and was the ACC Player of the Year his senior year. He got drafted 45th and never played a minute in the NBA.

When Tyler announced that he was going to go play at UNC everybody started shooting him down and never thought that we would become a superstar college basketball player. Now look at what he has accomplished, he's being rumored as the best candidate for National Player of the Year. It seems that to me that Tyler rises above the level of competition that surrounds him. I can see him taking that same work ethic and attitude to the NBA and becoming a player that everybody wants to watch night in and night out.
