Tyler update & "Go Pack Go"
This from UNC:
CHAPEL HILL -- University of North Carolina All-America forward Tyler Hansbrough, who suffered a slight concussion in the second half of Sunday evening's game at Rutgers, is probable for Wednesday's (Dec. 19) home game against Nicholls State.Hansbrough posted his fourth consecutive double-double in Carolina's 93-71 win as he scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. He was injured with just under six minutes to play in the second half when he fell backward while trying to draw a charge. His head snapped back and struck an ESPN cameraman in the knee as well as the padded portion of the basketball support.
He did not return to action after being helped from the court (contrary to some media reports, Hansbrough was not taken to a local hospital for observation). He flew home Sunday evening with the team.
He went through a light weight workout this afternoon and will be looked at again in the next two days by UNC medical staff before Wednesday's game against Nicholls State.
The two-time first-team All-America is averaging 21.2 points and 9.8 rebounds for the No. 1 ranked and 9-0 Tar Heels.
Also, I too attended Sunday's Rams game against the Packers. Since my wife is a life-long Packer fan (we even went to training camp a few years ago), I tried to get tickets when they went on sale this summer but the game was sold out. Luckily, a friend of a friend of my brother had season tickets and couldn't make it. They gave us the upper-deck end-zone seats and we had a blast. My wife got to see Green Bay play and cheer "Go Pack Go" while I got to eat food and not write anything down at a football game for once.
Some of the Rams players were not too happy about the pro-Packers crowd. Can you blame the fans? It also snowed 6 to 8 inches the night before (big thanks to MoDOT crews).
When we went to a Yankees-Royals game in KC this summer, that crowd was also packed with plenty of Yankee fans. Some teams travel well (Yankees, Red Sox, Cowboys, Packers) but I don't care who you root for, that was a special moment when Brett Farve broke Dan Marino's record.
