PB Showdown Day 2
Every game tonight will be interesting to watch. Here's why in order by tipoff times.
Maplewood vs. Sikeston, 4 p.m. Corey Frazier (Charleston grad) takes his team up against Sikeston. Bryant Allen led the tournament in scoring 29 points Thursday and Travis Howard (22 points) lead the Blue Devils. The Bulldogs will look to bounce back from their second loss of the season.
Liberty Tech vs. Harrison, 5:30 p.m. Harrison can shoot the lights out and Tech is a two-time defending state champion trying to prove itself worthy of another title run. Both teams had the most balanced scoring of the first day with four reaching double figures.
Mules vs. Mills, 7 p.m. After the game Thursday night, the Mules were seen leaving Peters Gym in their practice gear. Coach Lamont Frazier didn't want to say what he had planned for his team, but it will be interesting to see how the Mules respond. Michael Jackson led Mills with 20 points Thursday. If he scores the game winner I'm using the headline 'Thriller.'
Union City vs. Raytown South, 8:30 p.m. Two very quick teams will face off in what may turn into a track meet. South's Dominique Newton and Union City's M.J. Brown each scored 28 Thursday night.
I'll post game stories when I get back to the office around 10:30 or 11.
