Waiting to hear from PBHS AD Bill Caputo on what the plan is for tonight's MSHSAA Class 1 Sectional at Peters Gym.

Not sure what happens if snow postpones the game because Peters Gym will also host the Class 3 Sectional on Wednesday. Caputo said Monday that MSHSAA was coming up with a plan. Poplar Bluff has school today (as of 7 a.m.) but it looks like it may get slick down here.

Stay tuned …

UPDATE**

Just got word from PBHS that the game is still ON as of right now (10:21 a.m.). The backup plan is playing the game Thursday night. But it looks like we are a go.

If there are any more updates, I'll post as soon as I hear something else.

FINAL UPDATE**

Just got back from Peters Gym. The roads are clear, the fans are picking their seats and the teams have arrived for the girls game. They'll tip off in about 40 minutes. If you're coming to Bluff for the game and have never been here are the directions. Better yet, the address is 1300 Victory Lane, Poplar Bluff for a map search.

Highway 60 to 67 south (business 67). Fourth stop light (at the strip mall with the Steak N Shake) make a left. The school will be on the right just behind the Pizza Hut. The gym is at the top of the hill. If there doesn't look like there's any parking left, there's still room inside. It holds about 3,000.

Enjoy and have a safe trip.

Toby and Chris will be covering the game, I'll be at home with the family (got a doubleheader there tomorrow night).

they also couldn't play at trcc tomorrow night because the class 2 sect. is scheduled there. i'm sure the black river coliseum is probably out too, but you never know. it would be tough to push it back to thur. night then have the winner have to play a quarterfinal game on sat. it'll be interesting to see how this plays out. very light combo of sleet/snow falling right now in pb.

The winner of this game will probably play Chadwick in the quarterfinals. Chadwick is a good team, but I would expect either BC or SCC to beat them by 15-20.

Both teams will pound the quarter-final opponent regardless of who it is. If BC wins they will shut down the next opponent with great defense and if SCC wins they will run past the opponent with ease. Both teams win by 25+

Lets not get all excited guys. We are talking 1A Basketball. I sure wont drive an hour for that.

Hey Recman! You lose all credibility as a sports fan, when you automatically assign the significance of a BB game based on school size! If memory serves me correct, both Bell City & Scott Co. Central have competed rather favorably with schools much larger.

I'm sure glad Gary Pinkel didn't call for your assessment of William Moore (Hayti) and Jimmy Jackson (Caruthersville)!

Anybody know what the weather is like in Bluff at the moment?

Brian Rosener's response:
Sorry for the delay. Had to run around town this afternoon.

5on5,

If both teams pound the quarter-final opponent wouldn't that be 10 on 5? That hardly sounds fair to me.

If you re-read my post I think you can figure out what I meant. If not, sorry. As for recman. He is obviously constipated or something because he always has something negative to say.
