No, the paper didn't send me to Hawaii to cover UNC (I was at a wedding over the weekend). But I did find a good story from News & Observer writer Robbi Pickeral (one of the few reporters who cover UNC to actually make the trip to Southeast Missouri). Her story is here.
In it, is this passage that I thought local fans might like:
When a stress reaction -- which is the precursor to a stress fracture -- was diagnosed, he was so upset about having to sit out a while that Williams stopped by the house to remind him about a similar situation that occurred four years ago. I need to mention congrats to Chris and Katie on their wedding, more proof that Cardinal and Cub fans can get along. It should be said that while, as a Cardinal fan, I may not like the Cubs, I can say without a doubt that Cub fans really know how to have a good time. |
