Brian Rosener is the keeper of the Semoball Cup which is presented to the school with the most successful season. It is based on a formula that takes into account the combined winning percentage of all sports teams plus bonus points for advancement in postseason play for both teams and individuals. The bonus points are divided by the number of teams a school fields. Rosener has been the sports editor for the Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, Mo. since December 2001. He was born and raised in St. Louis, where he attended Lindbergh High School and Webster University. He is married to Jennifer, a Poplar Bluff native, has a son Jack and a dog named Satchel who stands in for his @semoballBrian photo.

DAR preview runs today

Hopefully. The 12-page prep basketball preview section was scheduled to run Monday but a production error kept the press from running in time to include it in the paper. It will run in a few minutes and be included into today's (Tuesday) DAR.

So what's a production error? In this case, the computer that makes the plates which go onto the press kept cutting the page by a quarter. It's the first time the pressroom had a problem like that and a call to the manufacture had them stumped as well at first. By the time the computer glitch was fixed, the Monday edition was out on the streets. When I came in today, the plates were printed and ready to go onto the press before the daily runs.

Part 2 of our season preview focuses on the coaching changes at two of the top girls programs in the OFC. (Part 1 Monday was on Clearwater's junior class). Part 3 for Wednesday will focus on Dexter's girls team.
