Now that the holiday tournaments are behind us, the race for conference titles starts to heat up. Here's a look at the standings as of Jan. 5:

For the Sikeston Bulldogs to run the table, they'll have to win three tough road games at Charleston (Friday night), Poplar Bluff (Feb. 6) and New Madrid (Feb. 17) and beat Jackson (Jan. 27) and Cape Central (Friday, Feb. 13) at home.
The Dexter Lady Bearcats are the only remaining unbeaten team in Southeast Missouri after winning the Lady Royals Holiday Classic. They will return to SEMO play in February with home games against Doniphan (Feb. 2), Notre Dame (Feb. 9) and Cape Central (Feb. 12) before traveling to Poplar Bluff (Feb. 16).
The only unbeaten boys team left in Southeast Missouri (as of Jan. 1 standings from Al Jackson) is 11-0 Eminence of the Big Springs Conference. There are six one-loss teams led by Scott County Central (11-1), Bernie (10-1), South Iron (9-1), Portageville (8-1) Saxony Lutheran (7-1) and Risco (7-1).
