SCAA tourney, pretty much everything iced over
The ice storm has pushed back the start of the SCAA Tournament at Bloomfield (and pretty much everything else down here in this corner of Southeast Missouri).
This from Eric Boles, Principal at Bloomfield:
We will play first round games on Wednesday and Thursday.
We will play semifinals on Friday.
We will play finals and third place games on Saturday. (Times to be determined)
On a personal note, I got a call from my wife while putting the paper to bed:
Her: A tree fell.Me: Did it hit the house?
Her: It fell in the front yard. You know the tree that's split in two already. It fell.
Me: Did it hit the house?
Her: I don't think so. You know that crash I heard before (from a pervious call), I think that was it.
Me: Was it the dead tree?
Her: No, the ugly red bud.
Me: I'm on my way home.
Her: The dog won't go outside to use the bathroom.
Me: I'm on my way. (her still saying something) Jen, I can't leave until I hang up.
The tree, which is 10 feet from the house, split parallel to the front of the house falling across the walkway leading to the street and clipping the corner of the house with the smallest branches. The dead tree still stands. The dog eventually went outside.
Needless to say, all Poplar Bluff events for tonight have been postponed.
