Bluff falls; Sikeston and Charleston catch up
Notre Dame's 56-47 win at Poplar Bluff on Friday night (staying away from a Friday the 13th reference) means there is a three-way tie for the SEMO Conference lead.
Poplar Bluff, Sikeston and Charleston each have one loss after Friday's games with Charleston hosting the Mules on Friday, Feb. 20. There is no tiebreaker for the conference title, meaning if Sikeston takes care of Jackson on Saturday and wins at New Madrid County Central on Tuesday, they clinch at least a share of the title for the second straight year. Since the Mules and Charleston play, at least one of those teams will end up with two SEMO losses. The Bluejays travel to Cape Central on Tuesday before hosting the Mules. Poplar Bluff has a non-conference game Tuesday.
