Poplar Bluff is the last seed for next week's MSHSAA baseball district tournament to be held in Farmington. The Mules are lucky No. 8 -- they finished fourth at the recent SEMO Conference tournament as the eighth seed. Poplar Bluff plays top-seeded Farmington at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Here's the first round games Saturday, May 16 at Farmington in bracket order:

(1) Festus vs. (8) Poplar Bluff, 10 a.m.

(4) Cape Central vs. (5) DeSoto, 12:30 p.m.

(2) North County vs. (7) Sikeston, 5:30 p.m.

(3) Jackson vs. (6) Farmington, 3 p.m.

Semifinals are set for Monday at 4:30 p.m. while the championship is 4:30 Wednesday.

The Lady Mules also have a tough road in the MSHSAA soccer district tournament at Fox High School in Arnold. Poplar Bluff has won a program-best 12 games but is the fifth seed. Here's the schedule for first round games Saturday, May 16 in bracket order:

Fox vs. Cape Central, 12 p.m.

Semifinals are Monday at 4:15 p.m. (Jackson vs. Northwest-PB winner) and 6 p.m. (Seckman vs. Fox-Central winner) with the championship scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday.
