Hansbrough's NBA blog

Posted Thursday, May 28, 2009, at 10:06 AM

Tyler Hansbrough is writing a blog for nba.com while he prepares for the Draft on June 25.

During the summer before his senior year, Hansbrough wrote short entries on his college visits and playing around the country for a section we called 'Postcards from Tyler' that ran in the DAR.

One of the interesting things from his first NBA entry was this item:

Because we won the national title, we were invited to go to the White House. We got to walk around the White House and have a little press conference. He thanked us for saving his bracket, and I told him he made a nice pick in picking us. It was really cool.

We got a chance to play basketball with President Obama when he came into town when he was running for president, so it was good to go back and see him and talk to him.

When he played against us on his campaign, he came in a little rusty, but he got warmed up and hit a couple Js. It does make a difference when you're playing with the president. You tend to pass the ball a little more, because you've gotta get the president the ball.
