Cape Central boys, Jackson girls win SEMO XC titles

Wynn McClellan of Notre Dame won his second straight SEMO North Conference cross country race, but the Bulldogs were edged by Cape Central in the race for the team title by four points.

Cape Central's Mary Dohogne won the girls race but the Lady Tigers' run of 10 straight team titles ended as Jackson won.

A note about the course, it ended up being 36 yards shy of 3.1 miles, said Poplar Bluff coach Beth Lewis, due to the rain earlier in the week that flooded some of the course. It was the first meet in Poplar Bluff since 2003.
