Bluff's McIntosh returns
Poplar Bluff senior Bobby McIntosh (right) got his first at-bat of the season Tuesday in a 12-9 loss to Sikeston.
McIntosh was Poplar Bluff's leading hitter last season as a junior before battling a rare autoimmune disease -- Wegener's Granulomatosis -- over the summer.
"We've been waiting for a situation where Bobby might be able to help us," Bullington said. "He's been working hard, swinging the bat well in practice."
With the tying run on and two outs, McIntosh pinch hit and was hit by the second pitch he faced. After taking his base and being removed for a pinch runner, McIntosh was mobbed by teammates with hugs in the dugout.
"That's a big deal," fellow senior Robert Rushin said. "I miss him a lot on the field."
