What we learned, Week 1
Cape Central ended a 13-game losing streak and Jackson scored more points in one game than all of last year. Sikeston rolled up 42 points and 560 yards of offense, Farmington edged Festus behind QB Zach Hibbits (364 passing yards on 23-of-29 with 4 TDs, two rushing) and Poplar Bluff got handed its most lop-sided loss since 2002.
So, what did we learn from Week 1 in the SEMO North?
Not much. None of those teams were playing each other, so in terms of the conference race, it doesn't start until Sept. 17. That leaves plenty of time for teams to adjust.
In the meantime, we did learn a few things around the state, especially in Class 3 ...
