Wednesday night at Peters Gym in Poplar Bluff:

Soldan (St. Louis) 53, Hillcrest (Memphis) 51

Randy Holmes sank two free throws with 2.1 seconds left, lifting the Tigers to the championship game.

Holmes scored 16 and got to the free-throw line in the closing seconds of a tied game by driving from the left wing and drawing contact. He sank both shots before a half-court prayer by Alficio Miller hit the rim at the buzzer.

Miller also scored 16 to lead the Vikings (12-2) while Charles Waters added 11 points, 14 rebounds, four steals and three blocks. Kerrell Davis, the leading scorer on the opening day of the tournament with 24 points, had just eight before fouling out with 5:55 to play.

Paul McRoberts added 13 points, 10 rebounds and five steals for the Tigers (10-2). Aaron Dlamini added 11 points on 5 of 6 shooting.

There were 11 lead changes and eight ties while the largest lead for either team was just six. The teams were tied at 38 heading into the final quarter after the Vikings led 22-21 at halftime.

Hillcrest opened the fourth with a 7-3 run and still led 49-47 on Miller's spin and layin with 2:17 left.

McRoberts scored four straight points in the span of 15 seconds sandwiched between a steal by Kawan Griffin to tie the game at 49. James Howell's fastbreak layin put the Vikings up seconds later but Griffin scored on a baseline drive that tied the game with 68 seconds left.

McRoberts got a steal but the Tigers missed a chance to go ahead before Hillcrest missed a shot with 39 seconds to go.

Charles Waters of Hillcrest won the slam dunk contest earlier in the day.

Tupelo (Miss.) 68, Imagine Prep-St. Louis 33

Deontaye Ewing scored 16 points to lead five Tupelo players in double figures.

The Golden Wave (13-2) advanced to the championship game by hitting nearly half of their 3-point shots and scoring 33 points off turnovers.

Martavian Payne scored 11 to lead the Bears (4-6), who made their first trip to the Showdown.

Rashon Coleman, Dajon Reno, Chris Brooks and Josh Hamilton each scored 10 points for Tupelo, which led 15-9 after one quarter and 36-17 at halftime.

Coleman won the 3-point contest earlier in the day.

Liberty Tech (Tenn.) 63, North Pulaski (Ark.) 54

Kendall Anonthy followed up a 20-point performance by scoring 25 in the consolation semifinal. Anthony hit all 12 of his free throws as the Crusaders advanced to the fifth-place game.

Liberty (11-2) forced 22 first-half turnovers to build a 40-20 halftime lead.

North Pulaski (5-7) rallied to within a point early in the fourth quarter, but Ryan Yeates quickly answered with a 3-pointer to start a 12-3 run by the Falcons.

Dayshawn Watkins scored 20 on 7 of 11 shooting to lead North Pulaski.

Overton (Memphis) 69, Poplar Bluff 58

The Wolverines opened the fourth quarter with a 13-0 run after the host Mules pulled within a point to end the third.

Ike Anders sank a 3 at the buzzer to pull Poplar Bluff within 51-50 but it was all Overton after that.

Tony Jennings sank a 3, Darrius White got a steal and scored while Jennings later picked off a pass to start Overton's run. A steal and dunk by Otis DeVine pushed the margin to 10 with 5:08 to go.

Overton (8-6) forced six turnovers during the run and ended with 30 points off 24 turnovers by the Mules.

White scored a game-high 27 on 5 of 10 shooting from 3-point range while Jennings added 16.

Jake White led the Mules with 26 points and six rebounds. D'markus Patterson had seven assists as Poplar Bluff scored 47 in the second and third quarters.
