Fox Sports Ken Rosenthal calls a trade of Scott Rolen "unlikely," but does add this.

Rolen almost certainly would require significant compensation to waive his no-trade protection. What's more, he probably would leave the Cardinals only if he were convinced that the team was about to enter a lengthy rebuilding process -- and only if the team that wanted him was a perennial contender.
