More impressive - KU's 76 or Mizzou's 45-point win?Posted Sunday, November 4, 2007, at 7:44 AM
The 76 points Kansas put on Nebraska Saturday afternoon is sucking up a lot of media oxygen, but the Missouri Tigers 55-10 victory over Colorado was just as impressive - probably more so.
Consider the following:
There was a statement game on Saturday but it took place in Boulder, not in Lawrence. While the Jayhawks were putting another dent in the last days of the Bill Callahan era at Nebraska, Mizzou defeated a decent Colorado team that had previously defended its home turf in a respectable fashion; a 3-2 mark including a victory over Oklahoma. For the next two weeks, I'll engage in proportional rooting for the Jayhawks. Whatever Missouri does in the win-loss column, I hope Kansas does the same. If both teams can string together back-to-back victories, it means a 10-1 Mizzou team will face an 11-0 Jayhawks squad for the right to represent the Big 12 North in the conference championship game. How fun will that be? All roads point to Arrowhead. Comments Showing most recent comments first [Show in chronological order instead] |

Mizzou is for real. KU played a team that has quit on their coach. Completely quit. The KU MU game will be a great one, assuming both can continue to win until then. LSU is not the over rated team atop the BCS, that team is Ohio State who has played no one and will play no one on its way to taking a thumping in the Championship game.
KU will not make it past the OSU Cowboys, KU has a great team, Not Top 4 Caliber though! They will also have trouble getting past Iowa State, I really think the two teams will be tied going in to Battle at Camaro Head, GO MIZZOU!!!!
I think MU is better but you do have to respect Kansas' record. If Mizzou didn't play OU, like Kansas, they would be perfect as well. The good thing is that it gets settled on the field. Mizzou needs to focus on the games at hand and not look ahead. The winner of the Big 12 title game should be in the Nat. Championship but the love affair with LSU will prevent it. I also hold out hope Michigan can finally beat OSU, and somebody beats Oregon.
I need 2 MU-KU tickets at arrowhead please help a life long MU fan.
Your question is good. The answer: MU's game over Colorado. Both were impressive wins, though.
The showdown comes in November!!
Mizzou beat Nebraska by 35 and only gave up 6 points. Kansas beat Nebraska by 37 and gave up a whopping 39 points. Both games were at home for each winning team. Kansas beat Colorado 19-14 when they met.
There are still 3 games left. So I would worry about those games first.
If the game was tomorrow, the score would be Missouri 38, Kansas 21
In late December, Colorado will play in a bowl game while Nebraska will be involved in a coaching search.
Mizzou will beat KU
