I can not wait for the baseball season to start. With the off-season additions and up grades the Cards have made, I am very excited and optimistic to see how the new club and players do. I am very happy with the choice of Matheny as the skipper. I think he will be a great manager and leader. LaRussa was a great manager, but I think all managers get too much credit for the perfomance of their team. Bottom line is the players have to produce. I do not ever remember a current day manager hitting a game winning home run. If the Cards players stay healthy, I see a team that should win their division and contend for their 12th World Championship. Albert was great, but we had his best years. As long as the club wins Sir Albert will be forgot about. GO CARDS!

I think the Cardinals will definitely be the favorite to repeat in the NL Central. But arguing the Cardinals will be better w/o Pujols is like arguing the Yankees would've been better w/o Babe Ruth.
I really hope STL can sign Oswalt. Freese, Furcal, and Craig have to prove they can stay healthy along with Holiday. Big seasons will be needed from all four. Can Berkman repeat his huge season at 40? 2nd base is still a question mark to me. We need another lefty out of the bullpen. I'm cautiously optimistic about the Redbirds in 2012 and their chances of winning the World Series again. But like you I can't wait for the season to begin!
