Why was there so many errors I'n this game both of these teams are 2 of the best I'n class 1 ? If both teams play good baseball next time do you think the same out come ?
With both teams #1s on the mound (Anderson for Cooter and Moore for Oran), I think Cooter wins by 2 runs.
In a 3 game series, I think it could go 2-1 either way.

I could see there not even being a total of 5 runs scored next time the two teams play (with both aces on the mound) but I've been wrong before.

I hope we both get a chance to play again, we both got room for improvement after yesterdays defensive fiasco.

I think Oran will get runs off Anderson by utilizing some small ball and doing different things on the basepath. Will it be enough runs? I don't know. It just seems that every year Oran has beat Cooter in the past its been due to the small stuff and being more disciplined. (fewer errors, better baserunning, hitting the cut-off, getting bunts down) I don't think Oran attempted one stolen base yesterday which does not happen too often if ever with Mitch coaching, especially in that sloppy of a game. I also couldn't tell you the last time Oran has committed 9 errors in a game. How they still only managed to lose by one run beats me.
I just think Mitch is saving his best hand for the Sectional match-up and not to boast, but he's the coach you want in that type of game. The x-factor IMO will be Kody Moore and one thing about Kody is that he is a competitor.

I'm not questioning wood but oran threw their second best and so did cooter but oran's is better and they didn't win. Anderson if he throws strikes will shut Oran Down in my opinion due to the youth in oran's lineup. And why is wood the kind of coach you want? Isn't crawford just as good? And that's no knock on wood no pun intended bc they are both two of the best coaches we have around

Well since Oran had 9 errors in the game I don't think it would have mattered if Randy Johnson was throwing. Jk, but you get the point. Hopefully seeing Helias's, ND's, and MICDS's pitching will help our hitting situation out. I'm sure when they go out to Strafford they'll see some live arms also. I'm sure each one of them have at least one or two pitchers equilivant to if not better than Anderson. That makes a difference.
Why is Wood the coach I want? Idk, it might have to do with his 7 final four appearances, or 8 conference titles, or 12 district titles, or conference coach of the year 5 years, or that he's in the MHSBCA Hall of Fame, or it just might be his 358-112 record. Why the hell would you not want him?
Crawford is a good coach himself. You can tell he's been around for awhile. I don't know his track numbers other than he's in the MHSBCA Hall of Fame himself but I'm sure they're right up there with Wood. I'm just taking Wood because Oran is 4-0 in the sectional match-up against Crawford and Cooter since '06.

I didn't say I disagreed. I just wondered wh him over Crawford. Those overall wins mean nothing the key stat u provided was his head to head record verse Crawford

I know, I was just using it to back-up my opinion. Your exactly right but Cooter has a way greater shot this year than any of the previous 4 seasons to win IMO.

Coach Wood and Coach Crawford are great coaches with different styles. The game that was played at Cooter is just a win/loss and you get to play the next day, this time. The only one that matters is the one in May where you win or go home, if the two teams make it that is.

Cooter has someone in their district who beat them the last time they matched up. Cooter is definitely still the favorite in district 1, but they better worry about the district title before worrying about Oran. In years past you haven't been able to say that, because nobody in their district ever beat them.

Cooter definitely won't run through their district this year. Not to say that they won't win it,but Holcomb is no slouch of a team this year, and they did win the last head to head match up. 10-1 to start off the season with some quality wins. Might not want to look past the district championship game.

Risco and Holcomb are very good teams, they could cause problems for a lot of teams in 1A. We play Risco next Tuesday at Cooter and Holcomb next Wednesday at Holcomb, also Risco and Holcomb play next Monday. So the Regular season conference championship and the number 1 seed in the District will be decided the first 3 days of next week.
