  • Poplar Bluff looks to be the best team left. Just don't tell Boonville, Jackson or Charleston. They still have something to say about that.

    -- Posted by backintown2012 on Tue, Jul 10, 2012, at 8:58 AM
  • Pitching is probably starting to get pretty thin for everyone. I'm not sure who everyone has left.

  • Despite the claims of some of my good friends from Scott County Central sometimes I still make accurate predictions.

My prediction of a Poplar Bluff-Charleston final holds true.

-- Posted by Dustin Ward on Wed, Jul 11, 2012, at 1:47 AM
  • I must add one has to admire the work done by the coaching staff and players of Charleston and Poplar Bluff. Both programs would represent Missouri well in the Midwest Plains Regional.

I strongly admire coaching staffs that are willing to give interviews after wins and losses in the regular season. Charleston's Michael Minner and Poplar Bluff's Jeff Null are among the top coaches in the state of Missouri. They are very respectable to the media after wins and losses and make strong efforts to make sure their teams' have the best shot to advance deep into the postseason.

It is not a coincidence most teams these coaches coach advance deep into the postseason in every sport.

  • Does anybody know what time the championship game starts today?

-- Posted by Agodwin on Wed, Jul 11, 2012, at 10:04 AM
  • Based on the teams at last year's regional at Charleston, I think that whomever wins will stand a really good chance at regionals this year. I do think that Poplar Bluff will win the first game today to win but, never count Charleston out.
