This is the latest SEMOSportsweb.com poll. A few questions about it... How is Farmington ranked above Cape? Didn't Cape just beat them by 27? How is Caruthersville ranked above Kennett when Kennett beat them? Notre Dame is ranked above Dexter, but Dexter beat them? Bernie is ranked abvoe Twin Rivers and Twin Rivers beat them? And Twin Rivers is ranked above Portageville, when Portageville beat them? Huh? I know polls are not always right, but COME ON!

Can't argue with Charleston being #10 except for the fact that they've defeated both Poplar Bluff and Cape Central. Their losses are to SCC, Sikeston, Jackson, North Little Rock and Notre Dame (have defeated ND since their early loss to them).

There are those that argue about the improvement of their team since they've gotten new players at semester break, but shouldn't those teams actually defeat a team that has already beaten them before being ranked higher?

Rankings mean little at this time of year but it's good fodder for these blogs.

  • The thing I find curious is how does one become eligible to vote in this poll. It says that it is determined by coaches, players, fans, and media.

Kennett is ranked lower than Caruthersville because of the Poplar Bluff lose. The Bernie/Twin Rivers/Portageville thing is because of per season rankings. Bernie was ranked in the preseason while both Portageville and Twin Rivers weren't. Twin Rivers then became ranked before Portageville did.

  • they are good, we should play them again in the bootheel conf tournament. we'll be the #1 seed they should be #2 seed meet in championship game and then we will find out about the two weaks of practice, if that was the only reason knt won the first time.
